Meet Richard Yu, LPC

Founder & Therapist at Commonhealth Cooperative

Hi, I’m Richard (he/him), a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Commonhealth Cooperative. I started this practice with a simple but powerful belief: that healing happens best in community.

My approach to therapy is relational, collaborative, and grounded in trust.

I work with adults and teens navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity exploration, and the quiet weight of burnout. I’m especially passionate about supporting those who feel unseen or stretched thin—whether you're a caregiver, a creative, or someone simply trying to hold it all together.

As a therapist and co-op founder, I’m committed to care that’s people-centered, not profit-driven.

That means showing up with presence, humility, and a deep respect for your lived experience. Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you—it’s about walking alongside you as you reconnect with your own wisdom and resilience.

When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me...

Biking around Austin, tending to my garden, or sharing a meal with friends. I believe in slow mornings, strong coffee, and the kind of conversations that make space for both laughter and tears.

If you’re looking for a therapist who values authenticity, community, and shared growth, I’d be honored to connect.
